Ribbon Sampler Ring

One of my fellow demonstrators, LMac, participated in a business tools swap at convention. She made and received some very cool things! My demonstrator group decided to recreate one of her swaps this month, so we are all making ribbon sampler rings with the new ribbons from the Fall/Winter 2008 Idea Book.

Tonight I spent some time making up a template for the rings, which you can download in PDF form here. The template should be trimmed (on the 8.5″ side) at 2.5″, 5″, and 7.5″ and then you can use your tab punch to create a tab for each ribbon type. Center your tab punch using the solid line as a guide for easy punching.

After creating my tabs, I folded each tab in half and punched a round hole in the top of each one using my Crop-a-dile. I used the 3/16″ hole set at about 1/4 inch depth and was able to punch three folded tabs at a time. Next I adhered each ribbon to its corresponding tab with two mini glue dots. I threaded the tabs onto a key ring and now I’ve got a handy-dandy ribbon reference tool.
