Hand Sanitizer/Gift Card box

Another sister-in-law’s birthday is coming up. I know that she likes to pamper herself so I thought a gift from a bath store would be appreciated, but I wasn’t sure what fragrances she would prefer so I opted for a gift card for her present. But, of course, I wanted to pretty up the presentation so I made her a cute gift card box that also housed a little hand sanitizer bottle. The pattern for the box was inspired by Erica Cerwin and I’d seen her idea mentioned on the demonstrator-only sharing site, Stampin’ Connection. It’s worth being a demonstrator just for that web site alone – so many wonderful ideas!

I picked the colors for the box based on the colors in the hand sanitizer and the gift card. I pulled out my trusty Color Coach and was able to find the perfect shades of pink and orange to coordinate – Rich Razzleberry, Peach Parfait, and Pumpkin Pie. I used some Designer Series Paper from the Sunny Garden collection and the In-Color Designer Series Paper Pack (one of the free options for hostesses!) to decorate the box. The holder for the hand sanitizer bottle was punched with the scallop oval punch and I was able to reuse that punched piece as a frame for the Birthday Wishes saying. The greeting from the Sincere Salutations set was stamped with Whisper White craft ink and embossed using White Embossing Powder and a heat gun. I attached the gift card to the top of the box with a couple of glue dots to make it easy for her to remove when she gets ready to shop. I closed the box with a belly band bow of the 5/8″ White Organza Ribbon.

It only took minutes to put together this little box/gift card holder and my sister-in-law seemed quite pleased with it! I can’t wait to make more – I have a few design modifications in mind for my next one.

  • Hi Jill! I just happend to stumble on your blog (looking for Ft Worth Regionals stuff!) and I saw that you made my Soap Holders! I love them!! You did such a great job! I really like seeing them in an every day theme (rather than the Halloween!) I hope you don’t mind, but I am gathering up links of them on the web and am going to post them on my blog in a few weeks… I will be adding your cuties! Thanks so much for giving me credit! I appreciate that!! 😉
