Name Badge Holder

I’ve been wanting to make this for over a year now. I finally got up the nerve to tackle the project and it turned out so much easier than I thought it would be.

Though you can’t see it in the picture, I used all three fabrics from the fabulous Twitterpated line. The outside of the holder is all the pink fabric, the lining is the floral print, and there’s a hidden velcro closure pocket inside made with the striped fabric. Truth be told, I think the striped is probably my favorite, but I was afraid if I used it for the outer edge my sewing wouldn’t have been straight and the holder would have ended up too crooked for me to use. Maybe next time, now that I’ve mastered the pattern.

The pattern called for cording, but I didn’t have any of that on hand so I used the ruffled ribbon instead. I think it adds a nice touch.

I’m so excited to use this at the upcoming Regional meeting! It’s got the zippered pocket plus interior velcro pocket, plus a large pocket and pen holder on the back! So useful – I won’t even need to lug around a purse!
