Baby Blocks and a Paint Can

I had a baby shower at work the other day and needed to come up with a quick gift, so I turned to my go-to soft baby blocks. These are so easy to make! I made four blocks total and was able to cut out all eight squares from each piece of fabric in one crank of the Big Shot. Just three cranks and all 24 squares were cut!

Once I have them sewn up, I love smooshing the blocks into an altered paint can for packaging. The paint can is definitely an attention getter among the gift bags and nursery wrapping papers at a shower. I love that the packaging is able to be reused by the new mom and as place to stash all those little baby keepsakes – the first hat, the little socks, the hospital bracelets, etc. I try to decorate them to match the baby’s nursery decor, which always excites the mom-to-be. In this case, the baby’s room is going to be decorated in a seafaring monkey theme, and the Fox and Friends stamp set was perfect to match that.
