Baby Onesie Month Stickers

A popular trend for new mothers is to take pictures of the little one on the baby’s “birthday” each month. There are so many props and ideas that go along with these milestone photos. You can position the baby next to a stuffed animal or other memento to see how big the baby gets/small the item gets. You can put the baby in a 12 month outfit each month and see how the outfit shrinks over time. In conjunction with these, or by itself, many parents like to have a visual to help remember the baby’s age, such as a sign “I’m ___ months old today”. That’s what I did with my kiddos, but as they got older, it became increasingly difficult to get the shot. The babies would turn around and grab the sign, crumple up the paper, throw it at me, and/or try to eat it. The monthly photo shoots could be quite frustrating, especially as they closed in on a year and the kids became more mobile and coordinated with their hand movements.

A new trend has replaced the sign for a lot of mothers – stickers that attach to the baby’s outfit! The stickers show the month age of the baby and are much more difficult for the baby to remove. Oh, how I wish I had had these instead of my paper signs.

For a friend’s baby shower, I decided to crack open my My Digital Studio 2 and make a set of month stickers for part of her gift. I was able to choose a DSP pack that matched her bedding and created 12 different stickers, one for each month. I was even able to use the advanced MDS2 features to recolor one DSP sheet that I didn’t care for, in order to make one that better matched the mother’s choices.

Here’s a sample of three of the stickers, to give you an idea of what they looked like.

DIY Baby Month Circle Stickers for Onesies Using My Digital Studio and Stampin' Up! products

I designed them three to a page, so they’d be large enough for photographs. I printed them out on my home printer onto sticker paper, and then I used my electronic cutting machine to cut them out. I packaged each circle in a paper CD sleeve so that they would be nice and neat until the mother needs them.

I paired these with a set of plain onesies in assorted sizes, so the mother has all she needs to take her monthly baby photos.

Don’t these make an easy and very unique gift?
