The “quick, simple, easy” Christmas Card

Each year I say that I’m going to design a “quick, simple, easy” Christmas card that is ready to go by December 1st. And every year I am cursing my overambitious self as I rush to get them completed and out the door the week of the 25th.

My “simple, easy, quick” card this year included two layers of tearing, a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock spritzed via the Spritzer tool loaded with Chocolate Chip marker, a gingerbread man stamped and then heat embossed with the (sadly discontinued) scented “Sugar and Spice” embossing powder and then die cut with the Holiday framelits, a Chocolate Chip cardstock base dry embossed with the Dots embossing folder, and a ribbon square knot of either Real Red or Chocolate Chip ribbon.

I’m very pleased with the card and it coordinated well with the goofy kid photo that I included inside. I don’t know how much longer the kids will let me dress them up, but I sure enjoy the costumes and photo sessions. I created the inside photo page with My Digital Studio 2, which made it very easy to print them off and glue dot them to the inside of the card. My recipients may not see my handwriting on the cards, but there’s plenty of “me” in them.
